About Bill
In 2011, Bill traded the snowy mountains of Colorado for the warm, sandy beaches of Hawai’i and never looked back. While he might have left the cold behind when he moved here, Bill did bring with him the invaluable skills he’d acquired while working in both property management and real estate.
Originally from, Texas, Bill moved to Colorado at the age of 21. For 32 years, he lived in Crested Butte, where he owned a successful property management company. A real estate sales broker since 1987, Bill became active in real estate sales in 2000.
“Before I sold the company in 1999, we managed 150 short-term vacation rentals. Owning a property management company and managing resort condominiums in Colorado really prepared me for my role in real estate sales,” says Bill, explaining that the experience gave him insight into how short-term vacation rentals work for both the buyer and seller. “I learned about what each one goes through during the sales process. Now that I’ve transitioned from ski resorts to oceanfront condos, I can give buyers and sellers all the information on how it works.”
His background in the resort market equipped Bill with extensive knowledge that has contributed to his success over the past 35 years, including receiving several top producer awards while in Colorado. In recognition of the outstanding customer service Bill offered his clients, he was also given the Quality Service award while with here on Hawaii Island. In addition, Bill has earned the Resort and Second Home Property Specialist (RSPS) designation.
Today, Bill specializes in both listing and selling resort and second homes, short-term vacation rental condominiums, and single-family homes in Kona and on the Kohala Coast. He is committed to educating sellers about market conditions, as well as helping buyers find a home that meets their needs and fits their lifestyle. As a Broker in Charge, Bill also possesses the skills to help other agents succeed in this ever-changing market.
“I'm inspired by the amazing people in our organization,” says Bill of joining Keller Williams in 2022. “I appreciate that the company’s culture is noticeably more in tune with the agents and their clients than other bottom-line driven mainland franchises.”
For the past 11 years, Bill has called the Big Island of Hawai’i home and embraced the idea of living aloha. Father to three grown sons and grandfather to three grandkids, Bill currently lives in Kailua-Kona.
“I love the year-round summer weather, the surfing and golf, and the people I get to share this island lifestyle with,” Bill says. “We have some beautiful beaches right here and I love them all. Especially Pine Trees and Kua Bay. You can’t beat the tranquility, clear water, white sand, and blue skies!” When Bill isn’t working or surfing, you’ll find him golfing or playing the ukulele.
